Grand Lux Cafe is OPEN!

Atlanta! Grand Lux Cafe is now open at Phipps Plaza! If you've been watching over the last few years, you have seen the beautiful facelift that has completely transformed Phipps to the amazing luxury shopping destination it is, and now you can dine in luxury too at Grand Lux Cafe!

Grand Lux Cafe is different in that they make all of their food from scratch - no pre-made meals here! Everything is fresh and made just for you when you order it. Their menu is internationally inspired and will have you temporarily escape the hustle of Buckhead and make you think you are dining at a trattoria in Italy or an elegant French bistro.

Not only is the food beyond amazing and delicious, but the portions are very generous. I left with eight to go boxes from our lunch. EIGHT. As I type this, I am finishing up these Asian Chicken Nachos - Crispy Fried Wontons Covered with Chicken in a Sweet-Hot Peanut Sauce, Topped with Melted Cheese, Green Onion and Wasabi Cream. This was the perfect starter to our meal! The cheese on the wontons - then add all the other flavors and WOW!

Next up was the Pasta Carbonara - now I can NEVER pass this up when I spot it on the menu, and this did not disappoint! They even use imported spaghettini for this dish so you know it is going to taste as authentic as you can get outside of Italy! I opted for the additional fresh grated Parmesan cheese - because does anyone ever turn down extra cheese? I also want to add that this dish came out HOT! I am not sure why, but I feel that a lot of places my noodles are just warm and I only enjoy it when I can reheat it at home and get it the temperature I like, but not this! As a mom of two, I am used to eating room temp meals, so this was a real treat! :)

We finished our meals with the Warm Sticky Bread Pudding pictured above. This is another thing that I can never turn down when a restaurant has it, and you know my husband was sold on it when he read that it was topped with Whiskey sauce! If you love caramel, nuts, warm gooey goodness, and general happiness in life, I highly recommend saving room for this. Or you can always do like I sometimes do - order dessert first! You know you'll always have room for dessert if its the first thing on the table!

One thing to note is that the desserts, like their other menu items, are fresh to def so they recommend ordering it when you order your entree - they are specially baked to order and take about 30 minutes to prepare. Whether you order this first or last - be sure to add it to your order!

I didn't get a snap of this, but the kids menu - MAMAS! Listen up! It is not just chicken fingers! They have so many options for your little ones! We ordered the Kids Grilled Salmon entree and it was served with mashed potatoes and carrots, and Sawyer inhaled it! Praise The Good Lord for yummy healthy options for the babes!

For those of you who have gone, what was your favorite thing? What do you recommend I try next time?

Cheers,

Kristin
